TEKAB has built a strong legacy of excellence in cable manufacturing since commencing operations in 1990, with an initial focus on producing a diverse range of cables, including instrumentation cables, building wires, flexible cables, and coaxial cables.
In 1996, TEKAB entered its first major phase of development, enhancing its manufacturing capacity and capabilities. This enabled the company to strengthen its position in the UAE and broaden its reach across neighboring GCC countries, selected European markets, and Australia. Over the following years, TEKAB continued to develop and introduce advanced cable solutions in response to evolving market requirements.
In 1999, TEKAB became the first manufacturer in the region to introduce fire resistant and low smoke halogen free cables. Launched under the FIRETEK brand, these products marked an important advancement in TEKAB’s portfolio and gained widespread acceptance across the Middle East.
In 2006, TEKAB opened a new, dedicated manufacturing facility, significantly advancing its production capabilities and technical expertise to meet the evolving requirements of regional and international markets.
In 2011, TEKAB achieved a significant milestone by becoming prequalified with ADNOC, further establishing its credentials and capabilities in supplying cables for the region’s demanding oil and gas sector.
TEKAB also has established a strong presence across the GCC through approvals from leading organizations. In Saudi Arabia, the company is approved by Saudi Electricity Company, SABIC and Saudi Aramco. In Oman, TEKAB holds approvals from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Royal Oman Police. Its regional credentials also include Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) in Bahrain, as well as Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in Kuwait.
In 2023, TEKAB introduced FIRETEK SMART, expanding its fire resistant cable portfolio with a cost effective solution while maintaining its commitment to quality.
Today, TEKAB is an approved supplier to prominent organizations across the UAE, including Empower, Dubai Petroleum, SNOC, ENOC, RTA, DEWA, SEWA, TAQA, and EtihadWE. With the continued trust of leading EPC contractors and customers across the region, TEKAB continues to build on its strong regional presence, delivering reliable and high quality cables.
